I’m so excited to finally share our completed porch! The porch was one the first projects we started tackling when we bought our house back in 2015, so this makeover is a long time coming. Each summer we tackled a part of the room. First, we got rid of the ugly drop ceiling and added bead-board to the lofted ceilings. There we existing 2×8’s which we wrapped in rough cut cedar to make them look like rustic beads. We added a ceiling fan to keep the air moving in the porch during our hot Minnesota summers! The following summer we decided to paint the dark reddish tongue and grove boards a soft white (“Snowbound” by Sherwin Williams). It was a real labor of love since it took us 4 COATS of paint to cover up that deep wood stain! This summer we finally tackled replacing the carpet floors with tile.
